5–10 minutes · Friday night · Weekend edge

The hour after everyone else goes out

A short companion for adult women (18+) when Friday (or a weekend edge) goes quiet on purpose—friends leave, roommate has plans, partner is out, the house empties—and the phone becomes the brightest door. Local checkboxes only. Nothing is saved or sent.

Education & self-reflection—not therapy, not a medical device, not a cure.

If you are unsafe: stop this page. Contact local emergency services. Finder: iasp.info/suicidalthoughts.
Still mid-spike? Use urge bridge, body reset, or phone gap first. After-work edge still happening? Try evening first. Late alone with the phone? See night. Already used and the night continues? Open aftercare, debrief, or continuity. Tomorrow morning? See saturday. This page is for the social-quiet Friday pocket—not a full weekend purity plan.

1) Name the quiet pocket (30 seconds)

Say or write one line. Borrow if needed:

“They left. The house got quiet on purpose. Emptiness + phone is a setup—not proof the whole weekend is already decided.”

2) Body basics before the feed

3) One piece of soft friction

Pick one—temporary edge for this first quiet hour, not a lifelong ban:

  • Phone face-down / in a bag / charging across the room for the next ten minutes
  • Brightness down · logout of the usual app · clear the usual tab
  • Stay upright at a table / kitchen counter before the couch-loop posture

4) Soft bookend for the first quiet hour

Soft structure beats “be good until Monday.”

5) Pre-decide the first boring ten

Before the screen suggests a path:

6) Optional 2-minute map glance

Only if it will not turn into prosecution. One line is enough:

  • When / where / device (door closed, couch, bed, bathroom)
  • Feeling or need-guess (FOMO, flatness, loneliness, relief, “everyone else is out”)

7) Know where the bridges live

Searching mid-spike is its own trap. Tick what you’ve placed:

8) If the wave still comes—or already did

A charged Friday quiet hour does not require weekend restart theatre. Use what fits:

When you’re done

Return to the living Friday night. A soft-edged quiet hour still counts. If shame starts a second spiral, reopen aftercare or continuity. When it gets late, try night. Tomorrow’s first open block: saturday. Full tool list: tools.

Also live: urge bridge · aftercare · start · listen · essays · subscribe. Soft paid depth later: Stripe kit—free tools stay free.
